This page provides Information about User Experience – some definitions as well as core values. Sections in Detail:
01

What is
UX – in short?

UX design extends the field of usability. Accordingly, it implements aesthetic and emotional factors and tries to give people a positive experience with the product.
02

Usability vs.
User Experience?

While usability is primarily concerned with the pure product benefit, the user experience encompasses the entire brand experience of the person with the product or service. It becomes apparent that both aspects should be in harmony in order to be able to offer a well thought-out product.

Aesthetic or experience-oriented aspects only work in conjunction with good usability. At the same time, products must not only be usable, but also attractively designed.

The Core Values of UX
  • Human-centered
  • Product-focused

Usability Goals

  • effective to use (effectiveness)
  • safe to use (safety)
  • have good utility (utility)
  • easy to learn (learnability)
  • easy to remember
    how to use (memorability)
  • efficient to use (efficiency)

UX Goals

  • satisfying
  • enjoyable
  • fun
  • entertaining
  • easy to learn (learnability)
  • motivating
  • aesthetically pleasing
  • supportive of creativity rewarding
  • emotionally fulfilling

Principles of good UX is a combination of both

When we design products, we always need to understand the framework. Is the user an end customer and what is his goal? Is the user a company employee and does the system need to be particularly easy to use and learn? Thus maybe the service experience is the USP?

To solve the problem, we must first understand the issue itself.

— UX
Metamodel.

A comprehensive and easy to understand preparation, which combines approaches from Norman, Anderson or Hassenzahl.

The following graphic is a simplified version of the original to improve clarity.
The UX metamodel connects existing UX perspectives and combines them into a experience-oriented model. It serves as a starting point for practice and science and clearly delineates the sub-disciplines (e.g. CX, Usability) visually from each other.

The Metamodel

The model illustrates how objective criteria and needs slowly change from the inside of the circle to subjective impressions and emotions. In this way, it depicts the field of user experience in a simplified way, but at the same time provides a successful overview of the relationship between the various disciplines and the influence of people. Objective criteria such as functionality, reliability or usability are consequently the basis of a good product.

.

If these aspects are fulfilled, factors like meaningful or desirable can be aspired. A good user experience includes these aspects. However, while the user experience only deals with the product, the customer experience also deals with interactions that take place when customers discover products or re-engage.
